Dogmatic Theology is the study of the authoritative doctrines of the Christian faith as confessed and defended by the church. It emphasizes the formulation, explanation, and defense of orthodox doctrine. While closely related to systematic theology, it gives greater attention to the church’s confessional standards and doctrinal authority.
