Biblical theology is the study of God’s progressive revelation in Scripture, tracing how His redemptive plan unfolds through the historical flow of the Bible and culminates in the person and work of Jesus Christ. It emphasizes the themes, covenants, promises, and storyline of each biblical book within the context of the whole canon. By contrast, systematic theology organizes the Bible’s teaching by doctrinal topics (such as God, Christ, salvation, or the church), regardless of where those teachings appear in Scripture.
